EU to send 450 emergency generators to Ukraine amid energy crisis
The European Union is set to deliver almost 450 emergency generators to Ukraine following massive Russian attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure during a brutal winter.

The European Commission said on Friday that the 447 generators (worth $4.3m) are intended to “restore power to hospitals, shelters and critical services”.

Ukraine has been experiencing severe frost since the beginning of January, with temperatures sometimes dropping to double digits below zero. The situation has been exacerbated by targeted Russian attacks on the country’s infrastructure, leaving millions without power and heating.

Since the start of the Russian invasion almost four years ago, the EU has sent more than 9,500 generators to Ukraine.
